System Ports

Purpose

The System Ports form provides a centralized means of associating logical names to each RS-232 port. The form also displays the baud rate and parity for each port.

Logs can be sent to the Mitel Log Viewer or sent to the LPR1 telnet port 1754 programmed in the Application Logical Ports.

Use this form when performing the following tasks:

Field Descriptions

Parameter	Description	Default Value
Location ID	System-generated, protected field. Indicates the PLID.
Device ID	System-generated, protected field. Indicates the PLID of the RS-232 port.
Channel	System-generated, protected field. Indicates the channel used.
Port	System-generated, protected field. Indicates the system port used (1 or 2).
Flow	System-generated, protected field. Indicates the direction of data flow (input or output) for the device named in the Port Type field.
Port Type	System-generated, protected field. Indicates the device type to which the port is attached.
Port Name	Enter a logical name for the physical port. The first port name, LPR1 cannot be changed. Note:LPR1 and LPR3 are not available as system ports.	Blank
Baud Rate	System-generated, protected field. Indicates the operating speed of the port. The maximum programmable baud rate is 19200. Note that although it is possible to enter new baud rates via the command line, these changes do not actually take effect in the system.
Parity	System-generated, protected field. Indicates the character protocol the attached device is using. The first alphanumeric character is the number of data bits, the second is the parity, and the third is the number of stop bits.
